Fundamentals: • Rider is dressed in jodhpurs (white, cream or beige) shirt, correctly fitted helmet, boots with appropriate heel, gloves (white, cream or same colour as jacket), a tie or stock (optional). Jacket required at the Championship Show. • For safety, hair must be tucked into helmet or jacket while competing. Long hair must be plaited or worn in a hair net. • Equipment is appropriate and clean. • Horse is in good physical and body score condition with a healthy, shiny coat. • Horse is well groomed with a neat mane and oiled hooves. We would like you to specifically note the correct use of tack and equipment, such as: • Dressage tests to be ridden in snaffle bridle, no martingales or attachments allowed. Breast plates may be worn, but no attachments added to it. • Horse boots are not permissible during dressage tests. • A tack check will be carried out before you go in for your test. New rules to note: • Max 2 riders per horse. • Max 2 horses per rider. • Spurs are not allowed during the sprint event. • Sprint must demonstrate control of your horse, and gentle transition back to canter and trot. Points will be deducted for failure to transition to trot at the assigned marker. • UAE National Rules as per the guidelines of the Emirates Equestrian Federation (EEF) state with regards to Outside Assistance: Any outside help by voice, signs, etc. is considered as illegal or unauthorised assistance to an Athlete or to his Horse. An Athlete or Horse receiving positive assistance will be Eliminated. • Arabian Sport Horse Championship Organising Committee Ruling 2017-D1: riders that compete (nationally or internationally) at Elementary Level Dressage will have 2 points deducted in the Prelim Dressage. • Arabian Sport Horse Championship Organising Committee Ruling 2017-D1: riders that compete (nationally or internationally) at Novice Level Dressage will have 1 point deducted in the Prelim Dressage.
